Gail Williams     

Associate Director, Community Involvement

 

Since 2001, Gail Williams has been associate director of the Office of Community, Neighborhood and Government Relations at Vanderbilt.  Prior to moving to Nashville in 2000, she was on the human resources staff of Ohio State University with responsibility as executive assistant of outreach and engagement for the school.  She earned her B.A. degree in political science from the University of Michigan and holds a J.D. degree from the University of Detroit School of Law.  Prior to moving to Columbus, Ohio, she practiced criminal defense and domestic relations law in Detroit.  She is president of the University School of Nashville board of trustees and immediate past chair of the Metropolitan Transit Authority board of directors.  She currently is a member of the Women’s Fund Advisory Board of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, the board of the YWCA, and the Board of Trustees for the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.
