Teaching Our Youngest Readers K-2 March 28, 2022 Description: This professional learning experience focuses on research-based strategies for developing the foundational skills that young children need to become proficient and independent readers. Participants will explore instructional activities for shared reading, intentional small-group work, word study, and meaningful independent practice. Lunch and snacks are included with your registration. Target Audience: K-2 Teachers Presenter: Jolynn Bernard is a Regional Director with the Center for the Collaborative Classroom. She received her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Florida State University, a Masters in Reading from the University of Central Florida and a Masters in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. She is Reading and ESOL certified and has experience teaching as a classroom teacher, interventionist, instructional literacy coach, and professional learning facilitator. Jolynn has presented at several national, state, and local conferences. She is passionate about working alongside educators to deepen instructional practices that inspire student learning.
